Random Explorer

The Random Explorer is the simplest of the two Explorer modes, and generates a specified number of random world maps.

Click the 'Random' radio button (if it is not already selected), and enter the number of worlds that you want to generate, or use the spin button to increase or decrease the number. Then click 'Start'.

If this is the first time you have generated a set of worlds after starting up World Builder there will probably be a few seconds delay. The main Explorer display will then start to fill up with thumbnail world maps. You can either wait until the Explorer finishes, or you can click the 'Stop' button to stop exploring.

Each world map has a number underneath it. This is the 'seed' for the world. Entering this value into the Seed edit on the Options panel of the World View page, and then clicking the 'Generate' button, will recreate this same map (but at a larger size).

However, there is an easier way to transfer the world to the World View page. You can either double-click on the thumbnail, or you can click once on it and then click the 'Copy to World' button on the toolbar.

If none of the thumbnail worlds is what you want, you can generate more, simply by clicking 'Start' again. If you want to delete the existing ones first, you can either click the 'Clear' button on the toolbar, or you can tick the 'Clear existing worlds' checkbox, which will then delete the existing thumbnails as soon as the 'Start' button is clicked.

If one of the thumbnail worlds is close to what you want, you can use the Series Explorer to find other worlds that are similar. Select the thumbnail, then Click the 'Copy to Series' button, and the Series details section will be enabled and filled with details that will generate a set of similar worlds.
